After a damp and rainy walking tour the day before, I decided to get out for a run in the sun in Budapest.
There were so many routes that I wanted to do in Budapest: there’s Margaret Island, a parkland oasis in the middle of the Danube, the castle district, the citadel, not to mention a huge tract of land just the the west of the city that would make for some excellent trail running. In order to get a view of a few of these, I opted to do a loop in the city along the Danube. It was a great run, nice and flat allowing me to see how much speed I have left in my legs (not much!). It seemed like the whole city was out enjoying the day. This was a bit of a problem as I got to the second bridge crossing. As it’s the oldest and most historic bridge, it was filled with people, and definitely throttled down my run.
Still, it was a great run with some gorgeous scenery.
